Your general dentist sometimes refers patients for consultation when the diagnosis is complicated or when treatment is more difficult than normal. Aside from providing treatment, Drs. Watson and Hoffmann's role is also that of educator. It is important that patients understand why they require treatment, what treatment involves and what they can do to ensure the best possible outcome. We believe that a properly informed patient has the best chance of achieving the
optimal result.
Sedation dentistry refers to the use of sedation during dental treatment. There are different types of sedation, including laughing gas (Nitrous), oral conscious sedation and IV sedation that are used in our office.

Sedation is endorsed by the American Dental Association and is an effective way to make many patients comfortable during their dental visit. Before using a sedative or anesthetic, it is required have a consultant to review medications, pre-operative information will need to be gathered along with consent forms to be signed.
